Man arrested after allegedly threatening QuikTrip security, assaulting K9 officer
TULSA, Okla. Aug 1 2021 A man was arrested Thursday night after police say he threatened a security officer with a knife and assaulted a police dog.
Tulsa police say they were called to the QuikTrip near East 21st Street and Memorial Drive just after 9:30 p.m. after a suspect, identified as Ervin McAlister, threatened a security officer with a knife after being asked to leave the property.
When officers arrived, they saw McAlister walking away from the store armed with a large knife.
Police say he was agitated and swinging the knife toward officers in an aggressive manner.
A Tulsa Police K9 took McAlister to the ground, but he continued to fight, kicking and hitting the dog with his fists. Officers were able to move in and subdue him.
McAlister suffered minor injuries from the K9 to his hands and leg.
He was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County jail for assault with a deadly weapon and assault on a police dog.
No one else was injured.
