Man arrested after breaching security checkpoint at Port Miami
MIAMI, Fla. May 1 2020 – A man was arrested after trying to dodge security officers at the Port of Miami and enter the cargo area, according to an arrest report.
Zachary Steiner, 30, is accused of refusing to stop at a security checkpoint in the Port of Miami. Security officials told him not to enter the cargo area, but he didn’t listen.
Officers responded to the scene and shouted at Steiner to get on the ground, or he’d be tased. He told officers to “f*** off,” and kept moving towards the off-limits zone of Port Miami, according to the report.
Since Steiner was refusing to listen to officers, they tased him once and was placed under arrest. He faces a felony charge of battery against a police officer and a misdemeanor trespassing charge.
Steiner was taken into custody and given a $2600 bond.
