Man arrested after pointing gun at Springfield club bouncer
SPRINGFIELD, MA Aug 7 2018
A Springfield man is facing a number of charges after police said he pointed a gun at a club bouncer early Saturday morning.
Springfield Police said 27-year-old Micheal Pinkney wanted to get inside a club on Dwight Street around 2:50 a.m. after it had already closed and pointed the gun at the bouncer who wouldn’t allow him in.
Ten minutes later, police said they located Pinkney in the area of Worthington Street and Bridge Street where he reached into his pants and dropped a gun underneath a car.
It turns out that gun was reported stolen from New Hampshire, and police said they also found approximately 12 grams of crack cocaine on Pinkney.
Pinkney was charged with the following:
- Assault by means of a dangerous weapon
- Carrying a loaded firearm without a license
- Possession with the intent to distribute a Class B drug
- Receiving stolen property less than $1200
- Possession of a firearm in a felony
