Man Arrested At NH Walmart For Cutting Security Tags To Steal Electronics
HUDSON NH Dec 10 2017 — One man faces several charges after police say he used snipping tools to cut security tags off items at a New Hampshire Walmart.
According to police, the attempted theft occurred around 12:35 p.m. on Friday at the Walmart on 254 Lowell Road in Hudson.
Upon arrival, officers found David Johnson, 28 of East Greenwich, RI detained by the Asset Protection personnel who stopped him from leaving the store with several items.
Johnson allegedly walked past the exit of the store concealing two (2) Roku Ultra streaming devices and other merchandise on his person.
During the arrest, officers located the snipping tool and another device designed to break anti-theft devices.
Police believe Johnson was planning to leave Walmart in a black 2017 Mazda 6.
Hudson Police also suspect that Johnson may have committed similar crimes by taking streaming devices elsewhere.
Johnson faces theft by unauthorized taking and possession of theft detection removers or shielding devices (two counts). He is scheduled to appear in the Nashua District Court on January, 11th.
