Man arrested for assaulting Nassau University Medical Center security officers
Hempstead NY Aug 28 2018 A Uniondale man was arrested on Saturday after police say he assaulted to security officers outside of a hospital.
According to police, Michael Ammino, 39, of Manor Parkway, was outside Nassau University Medical Center when one of the security officers saw him causing a disturbance near the hospital’s Carman Avenue entrance.
As the two security guards tried to escort him off the premise, police say he became combative and punched one of the security officers in the face.
The security officers tried to subdue him, police said, and both fell to the ground, with the guard getting a cut and substantial pain in his hand.
Police say that both of the security officers were able to hold Ammino on the scene until officers arrived and he was placed under arrest.
Ammino is charged with two counts of assault and two counts of third-degree menacing. He was arraigned on Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead.
