Man Caught After Punching Walmart Security Guard-Threatened Him With Pipe
DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. Oct 11 2017– State police arrested a man in Fishkill after he allegedly attacked a Walmart security officer and threatened him with a metal pipe.
New York State Police troopers were dispatched to the Walmart location on West Merritt Boulevard on Monday, where there were reports of a disturbance involving a man who was wielding an undisclosed weapon.
Upon arrival, police said that they quickly located 22-year-old Bronx resident Rasheem Grant, who attempted to flee the scene after being busted.
The subsequent investigation into the incident revealed that Grant allegedly initiated the dispute with the security officer, struck him several times then used the metal pipe to further menace him.
Grant was arrested at the scene and charged with misdemeanor counts of second-degree menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. He was also cited for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and harassment, a violation.
Grant was arraigned in the Town of Fishkill Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. He is due back in court on Oct. 18 to answer the charges.
