Man causing disturbance with pair of scissors detained at mall
SINGAPORE May 19 2018Â – An 18-year-old man has been arrested after holding a pair of scissors and “causing trouble” at Bedok Mall on Thursday (May 17).
Police said they were alerted to an incident at the mall at about 2pm.
The man was subsequently detained by the mall’s security guards and a member of the public, added the police spokesman.
No injuries were reported from the incident, he added.
“The man, who has a history of mental health problems, has been arrested for public nuisance,” said the spokesman.
Police investigations are ongoing.
Last December, a similar case was also reported, involving an 18-year-old holding a pair of scissors at the same mall.
According to The New Paper, the man went into some shops, where he messed things up while brandishing his scissors. He was eventually pinned down and restrained by a group of people in a watch shop.
Among those who helped pin the man down were two security officers and an off-duty policeman.
