Man charged after fighting with Kalahari Resorts security and assaulting police officer
Pocono Manor, PA Aug 29 2020 A New York man was arrested on Wednesday at a local resort after he allegedly kicked a Pocono Mountain Regional Police officer in the face, police said.
Richard A. Elwood, 30, of Liverpool, N.Y., had been fighting with a security guard at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions when Pocono Mountain Regional Police arrived and arrested him for public drunkenness, police said.
While trying to get him into a police car Elwood allegedly kicked the Pocono Mountain Regional Police officer in the face, Chief Chris Wagner said Thursday in a news release.
Besides public drunkenness Elwood was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, simple assault and disorderly conduct and taken to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Wagner said.
