Humboldt County CA March 15, 2022
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Redding man, Jesse McHenry, early this morning for attempted murder at the Blue Lake Casino.
The victim had a knife injury to the chest, according to the scanner. Humboldt County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jim Mowery told us in a short phone interview this morning that the victim was taken to the hospital with “significant injuries” though he would not confirm the weapon was a knife and said the incident was still under investigation.
Mowery said, the status of the victim this morning is yet unknown.
Casino security called for assistance with a physical altercation about 12:20 a.m. according to scanner tape. Soon after they reported that the suspect fled the area on foot headed east.
Scanner reports and the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office booking logs show that Jesse McHenry of Redding was arrested about 1:53 a.m. traveling on Hwy 299 near the intersection with China Creek Road southeast of Willow Creek.
McHenry was previously arrested in Shasta County in 2018 for battery against a peace officer.
