Man charged with trying to run over police officer

An off-duty police officer working a security detail at a Walmart store said that the driver of a vehicle tried to run him over.
OKC police responded to assist the officer at the store.
Oklahoma City Police said the Forest Park officer was off duty on Friday, working security at the Belle Isle Walmart.
Police say when the officer attempted to stop the suspected shoplifter, they got inside their Mercedes and tried to run the officer over.
The officer shot at the suspect’s vehicle, hitting it and leaving a bullet hole.
Police did not release the charges that the driver is facing.
