Man commits suicide in the backseat of a police car
CENTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. Aug 16 2022
A man who police say died by suicide in the back of a police cruiser was suspected of making “ghost guns.”
The Center Township police chief released new information Sunday on a search warrant at that man’s home along Geneva Drive.
Officers and ATF agents searched the home for 13 hours on Friday.
They seized 109 items in all, including several assault-style rifles, high capacity magazines, homemade firearm suppressors, as well as five 3D printers which were suspected in creating those ghost guns.
The man who died has not yet been identified. We know that he was 44 years old.
Police say when they went to serve the search warrant on Friday, he showed a handgun and was taken into custody.
“It is believed at this time that the individual discharged a firearm while being transported and in custody and is now deceased,” the District Attorney’s Office said.
