Man dressed like US Marshal arrested in Georgia
Fulton County GA April 10 2019 A DeKalb County man faces charges after allegedly walking into a South Fulton nightclub while wearing U.S. Marshals gear, pretending to be a fugitive task force officer.
David Anthony Flood Jr. is accused of wearing a tactical vest, drop leg holster, semi-automatic pistol and handset radio when trying to enter the Burn Lounge off Roosevelt Highway in late March,
Channel 2 Action News reported.U.S. Marshals told Channel 2 that Flood told the club’s security guard he was there to serve an arrest warrant for a rapist.
However, the guard told authorities he thought the Decatur man looked drunk.
The guard asked Flood to remove his gun belt so he could enter the nightclub before calling police, the news station reported.
When approached by South Fulton police, Flood allegedly changed his story, saying the alleged rapist he was there to arrest was actually someone he wanted money from, Channel 2 reported.
The name he gave police did not show up in any warrant database.
Flood was arrested on a charge of impersonating an officer.
He also has a fugitive from justice charge from U.S. Marshals, according to Fulton County jail records. It’s unclear how he obtained the task force gear.
