Man drives through Carson City Chick-fil-A drive through barrier, hides inside casino, arrested for drugs, warrants
Carson City NV May 16th, 2022 A 36-year-old Marysville, Calif. man was arrested inside a South Carson casino after allegedly driving his truck up a foliage barrier at the Chick-fil-A drive through, then running and hiding inside the casino.
According to the arrest report, Steven Warren Giboney was arrested after deputies were dispatched to the casino on report of a possible hit and run crash.
Dispatch advised a Nevada State Police sergeant had observed a pickup truck drive up a foliage barrier wall at the Chick-fil-A drive through before fleeing to a nearby casino. The man then absconded inside the casino.
The man allegedly went into the bathroom and disposed of his red jacket before returning to the gaming floor and sitting at a table to gamble, according to deputies. Casino security identified the man based on security footage and he was taken into custody.
A witness had filmed the incident in the drive through, which showed Giboney driving the pickup up the foliage wall. It failed several times to make it over the wall, throwing rocks and digging ruts into the landscape. Multiple times the vehicle became stuck and had to reverse back down into the drive through towards other cars before going back up the wall again.
Deputies approximated the damage at $1,000 in labor and supplies needed to fix the foliage wall.
Dispatch advised that in addition to the Chick-fil-A incident, Giboney was wanted on multiple warrants, including a felony warrant out of Carson City for failure to appear, and two misdemeanor warrants for failure to appear out of Storey County.
According to the arrest report, inside Giboney’s vehicle deputies located several burnt pieces of foil, a pipe used to smoke methamphetamine, and “a needle containing a brown substance” which deputies recognized to be heroin.
At the jail, Giboney “began exhibiting signs of being under the influence of heroin,” including being unable to keep his eyes open and becoming lethargic.
Giboney was booked on:
Felony possession of a controlled substance
Destruction of property
POssession of drug paraphernalia
Reckless driving
Two outside agency warrants
