Man in security guard uniform found shot to death
Upland CA May 9 2018
Upland police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old man found lying outside a car early Tuesday in the parking lot of a Home Depot, according to dispatch reports.
At least two people who were with the victim drove him from a secondary shooting location to the parking lot at 250 S. Mountain Ave. around 1:40 a.m., according to authorities.
The people with him called 911 then called his family who arrived at the parking lot and were still there around 9 a.m.
Bullet holes could be seen in the rear driver’s side door of the black Nissan.
As detectives searched the vehicle and processed the crime scene, several Home Depot customers slowly drove by, craning to see what was inside the taped-off area where a blue Upland police canopy and a black divider signaled where the man collapsed outside the car.
A second location, the Timbers Apartments, in the 200 block of Benson was also being investigated by Upland police Tuesday morning.
Detectives believe that this is the original scene of the shooting.
When the man was found, he was wearing a security guard uniform and may have been on duty at the apartment complex at the time of the shooting.
Investigators ask anyone with information to call the the Upland Police Department at 909-946-7624.
