Man recognized for theft, threatens to shoot security guard
MADISON, Wis. March 19 2018 – Madison police responded to the area of North Eau Claire Avenue for a report of an armed person, officials said.
The 47-year-old male suspect was recognized in the North Face store at Hilldale Mall from a previous theft, according to Madison Police Chief Mike Koval’s blog.
When security contacted the suspect, he allegedly became uncooperative, acting as if he had a weapon and threatened to shoot the security guard, the release said.
Police arrived and found the suspect hiding in bushes. The suspect then claimed he was having a heart attack, according to the new release.
Officials said EMS then transported him to a local hospital.
The suspect was later charged with intimidation of a witness, retail theft, disorderly conduct and possession of paraphernalia, along with several warrants.
