Man shot BB gun at security guard in Long Beach
Long Beach June 2 2017 Police arrested a man they suspect shot at a security guard with a BB gun late Wednesday night along the Long Beach waterfront, according to authorities.
The security guard called police shortly before midnight saying he’d seen someone suspicious in the 400 block of Golden Shore, Long Beach police spokesman Sgt. Brad Johnson said.
When officers arrived, the security guard said the man had shot the BB gun at him and was still nearby, according to police.
“The suspect was contacted by officers and was found to be in possession of a BB gun along with additional BB’s,” Johnson said. The guard also identified him as the shooter, according to police.
Police said the suspect is a 31-year-old Long Beach resident named Fidel Altamirano.
Officers arrested him on suspicion of discharging a firearm in a negligent manner and booked him into jail in lieu of $20,000 bail, Johnson said.
