Man Sues Nightclub, Claims Bouncers Put Him in Critical Condition
LUBBOCK, TX April 4 2018 – Doroteo Manuel Sandoval of Lubbock sued Level Nightclub on Monday for allegations that club bouncers beat him without justification. A police report said Sandoval was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition.
The police report said officers first went to the nightclub for the report of an assault. The police report said Sandoval was uncooperative and refused medical treatment. But later, officers were called to UMC and informed that a medical evaluation had been done.
According to the report, Sandoval “suffered serious injuries to his head.”
At the time of the police report, officers were not able to talk to the people who directly witnessed the event.
The lawsuit said, “Club Level negligently hired bouncers who were not properly trained and who were unreasonably aggressive and abusive.”
The lawsuit said, “[Sandoval] was severely assaulted by bouncers who apparently mistook the situation to be one for which extreme and deadly force was necessary when in fact [Sandoval] was not a threat of any kind.”
Sandoval suffered injuries, and lost wages, according to the lawsuit. He will continue to suffer into the future, the lawsuit said.
On the first page of the lawsuit it said Sandoval seeks more than $100,000 but just a few paragraphs later it said Sandoval seeks more than $1 million.
Records indicate that Sandoval was age 19 at the time of the incident.
“Sandoval had been to the club in the past and was an invitee on the evening in question,” the lawsuit said. “Level Night Club routinely allows patrons onto its premises who are under the age of 21 years of age, and marks their hands with ‘X’s to denote the same.”
