Man suing restaurant and security company, claiming he was wrongfully attacked
Fresno CA July 2 2020 A man pinned down on the ground by two security guards is now suing the restaurant and security guard company that hired them.
Jesus Bautista says the videos people caught on camera only shows part of what happened.
On Sunday afternoon, Bautista says he was meeting some friends at Culichi Town Fresno.
“We were getting ready to leave and on my way out I was assaulted by this security guard,” says Bautista, “When he took me to the ground his other partner came and started kicking me all over my body and my head. They didn’t want to let me up.”
Restaurant managers say the security guard tried to stop Bautista from leaving because they thought he did not pay.
According to the manager, Bautista pushed the security guard and took off outside.
“My friend came out waiving the receipt,” says Bautista. “I guess that’s when the manager told them to let me go because that’s when they right away they let me go.”
According to Culichi Town, it hired the security guards from A & O Private Security in Fresno.
Restaurant managers say the two guards in the video have worked at Culichi Town for about a year now.
As of Wednesday, managers say the guard in the video who Bautista says kicked him has now been fired from the security company and banned from the restaurant.
Attorney Nathan Miller says the video people caught on camera speaks for itself.
“Security guards are there to observe and report,” says Miller. “They’re not there to attack and assault. That’s what this security guard did.”
FOX 26 reached out to A & O Private Security for a comment but have yet to receive information.
