New York City NY May 25 2021
An alleged shoplifter swiped three pairs of socks from the M&M store in Times Square Sunday night before pulling a knife on a security guard, law enforcement sources said.
The suspect is accusing of stealing the socks — worth $18 total — from the multi-floor tourist sweets shop on Broadway and West 48th Street just before 7:30 p.m., sources said.
A security guard nabbed him, prompting the man to pull a knife on him, the sources said.
The suspect, who fled the store, was said to be wearing a black shirt, black pants, gray shoes, a black baseball cap and a gray backpack.
He was still on the loose Monday afternoon.
