Man taken into custody after tussle with federal officer at Miami airport
Miami FL Oct 27 2017 A man was taken into custody after getting in “an altercation” with a federal officer at Miami International Airport Wednesday afternoon, Miami-Dade police said.
The airport remained fully operational after the minor ruckus outside Concourse D.
A cell phone video appears to show the man walking along a row of check-in spots, yelling random things. Some passengers stared, others ignored, but none approached him.
Upon reaching the end of the row and running into a Homeland Security officer in uniform, the man started shouting, “You don’t want me! You don’t want me!”
The Homeland Security officer had his hand out in a calming manner until the man slapped at the officer’s hands, then at the air. He began bouncing back and forth on the balls of his feet, looking for a bit like Jerry Lewis in “Sailor Beware,” as the officer whipped out his baton.
When the man attacked, the officer retreated, but eventually gained a takedown on the man. Others came by to help as the man rose with the officer having him in a restraining hold.
