Man thrown out of bar, shoots at security in Sioux Falls
Sioux Falls SD May 24 2022 The Sioux Falls Police Department is investigating a shooting incident between a security guard at a bar and a patron, who was kicked out.
The incident happened at about 12:45 a.m. Sunday at a bar near W. Madison Street and N. Garfield Avenue, according to police spokesperson Sam Clemens.
The man was kicked out of the bar by a 38-year-old male bouncer, and then went to his vehicle, grabbed a gun and fired at the bouncer, Clemens said.
The man then tried to drive away but hit a parked vehicle. He got out and proceeded to fire at the guard again, Clemens said.
The bouncer used his gun to fire back as the man fled the scene on foot. No injuries were reported, Clemens said.
The vehicle used in the incident suffered some damage because gunfire. Police discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen, Clemens said.
No arrests have been made in the incident. Police will be reviewing surveillance footage from the area to try to identify the man.
Clemens did not disclose the amount of shell casings found in the area due to “investigative reasons” but there were multiple.
