Man uses shoe to sneak knife, marijuana through Boise Airport
Boise ID June 20 2018 A 67-year-old California man could face one charge of aircraft hijacking after police say he tried to sneak a knife onto an airplane on Friday from the Boise Airport by concealing it in the insole of his shoe.
Donald Lee Jackson was arrested about 7:15 p.m. when agents from the Transportation Security Administration found a blade in his shoe, according to a news release from the Boise Police Department.
As they investigated, officers learned he had intentionally sneaked the seven-inch blade into the airport, while he concealed marijuana inside his other shoe.
Police do not believe Jackson intended to hurt anyone with the knife, but he was still booked into the Ada County Jail on suspicion of aircraft hijacking, a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
