MAY 3 Jackson police recruit commits suicide at police academy

A Jackson Mississippi police recruit died while going through the training academy on Monday.
EMS was called to the police training academy for a medical emergency.
Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart said Tuesday that the unnamed recruit “took his own life by gunfire,” WAPT reports.
The recruit’s name was not released.
Training was suspended Monday at the academy, and grief counselors were called in, authorities said.
