MD security officer is stabbed, fires gun during confrontation
FORT WASHINGTON, Md. January 1 2020 Police in Maryland say that a security officer fired his gun and was stabbed after confronting a possible shoplifter.
Prince George’s County police said the security guard’s wound was in his upper body.
His condition was unclear.
The encounter began inside a supermarket when the security officer confronted a man suspected of shoplifting.
A struggle ensued and continued into the parking lot.
Police said the security officer fired his gun and that the other man suffered an unspecified injury.
Both were taken to a hospital.
Their condition and names were not known.
