At least two security guards are being sought by the Memphis police department after a shooting this week at a nightclub.
MPD said that the shooting happened at a Frayser sports bar April 1.
One person that security got into a shoot out with another armed person.
“They started letting bullets just ring. Security and this other guy,” Angleo Murrell, who was shot outside the Infiniti Sports Bar and Grill, said. “I looked back over and I see probably five to six people with guns aimed at me.”
The aftermath of the shooting was caught on a nearby barber shop’s security camera. Murrell can be seen on tape crawling on the ground in blood-soaked clothes as he is swarmed by men armed with guns and wearing tactical gear.
He said the men who shot him were working security at the venue.
“Just praying I wasn’t hurt too bad,” he said. “Praying they didn’t hit an artery.”
Murrell said he was shot five times, struck in the leg, hip, arm and head. The security footage shows Murrell’s fiancée get thrown to the ground, then the pair are beaten by the men.
Murrell said the incident started after he got into an argument with the club’s promoter, whom Murrell identified as one of the suspects. He was seen wearing black and white clothes in the video.
“Hitting me while I was on the ground, hitting my fiancée,” he said. “It was so much, it was chaos.”
The front of the sports bar remains riddled with bullet holes and the nearby barber shop had its windows broken by stray gunshots.
It is unclear whether the guards in the video were licensed or not but police want to talk to them.
