Men threatens hospital security saying he’ll kill everybody
SOUTH KINGSTOWN RI Sept 13 2020 –– A Scituate man has been charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly threatening to “kill everyone” at South County Hospital, prompting the hospital to go into a full lockdown on Thursday, according to the South Kingstown police.
Hospital security said a patient who was being discharged, identified by police as 51-year-old Peter St. Angelo, threatened to return with a gun and “kill everyone.”
According to a news release from police Lt. Mark Sgalia, St. Angelo made the threat twice, and the second time was in the emergency department waiting room. Some patients awaiting treatment overheard the threat and left in fear, Sgalia said.
St. Angelo left the hospital, which went into full lockdown, Sgalia said. St. Angelo was later arrested in Narragansett; no gun was found in his possession.
South Kingstown police charged St. Angelo with disorderly conduct and ordered him held overnight as a probation violator, Sgalia said.
