Milwaukee armored car guard shot during robbery
Milwaukee WI July 14th, 2023 A 55-year-old armored car security officer was shot Thursday, July 13 near 79th and Capitol in Milwaukee during a robbery. It happened around 8 a.m.
Police say a different security guard, a 26-year-old man, fired at the suspect who ran from the scene. It is not known if the suspect was struck.
Another guard, a 25-year-old man, was also on the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Susan T. Doyle, Senior Vice President of Retail Banking for North Shore Bank, released the following statement regarding the incident at the bank’s Milwaukee Capitol office:
“The safety and wellbeing of our employees, customers, and our business partners is our top priority. We are cooperating fully with the authorities as they investigate this matter.”

This is the second armored truck robbery at that same North Shore Bank this year. A law enforcement source told 12 News the thieves got away with six figures in cash.
Nobody was hurt in that incident.
