Mooresville school district OKs new police force
MOORESVILLE IN May 18 2021
It was a busy evening Tuesday for the Mooresville Consolidated School Corp., as the school board approved a new high school principal, transportation director, a staff stipend and the formation of a police department for the school district.
The formation of the police department resolution was brought up by MCSC Superintendent Randy Taylor at the meeting, where he explained that the previous arrangement in utilizing off-duty Mooresville Metropolitan Police Department (MMPD) and Morgan County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) officers was making it occasionally difficult to provide consistent coverage.
The school district agreed and will spend the next few months formulating the school police force.
