GREENACRES, Fla October 5 2019
A mother is behind bars after police say she dragged an officer while she was dropping off her child from school Wednesday morning.
According to Palm Beach School District police, 29-year-old Pracilla Alejandro Iyza became agitated when an officer approached her car asking her to move because she was improperly parked and blocking a crosswalk at LIberty Park Elementary School.
According to the arrest report, while the driver’s side door was open, without warning Iyza took her foot off the brake and stepped on the accelerator. This caused the officer to be trapped and dragged by Iyza’s car for approximately 20-25 feet.
The officer used pepper spray on Iyza fearing she would drive away.
Police charged Iyza with one count of aggravated battery on law enforcement and one count of resisting arrest with violence.
