M&T Bank security officer nabs bank robber
SYRACUSE, N.Y. March 21 2019 — A Canastota woman has been arrested and charged with third-degree attempted robbery after a security officer stopped her from robbing a Syracuse bank, according to Syracuse police.
Alyssa Boswell, 26, is being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center, police said.
Boswell entered the M&T Bank, located at 3640 James St., at 10:55 a.m. with a ski mask on, and slipped a note demanding money to a teller, police said.
As Boswell tried to flee the bank, a security officer confronted her and detained her until officers arrived and arrested her, police said.
Boswell wasn’t able to get away with any money, police said.
