Naked Man Kills Hawaii Security Officer

A security officer has died in Hawaii, and a 20-year-old champion swimmer has been arrested for murder.
Maui police said officers responded to the Sands of Kahana condominium complex at around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, where they found the body of a 63-year-old man.
Authorities identified the man as Michael Dyer of Lahaina. They said he was working as a security guard at the complex when he was attacked in his office overnight.
Legend Storer was charged Thursday in the death of Dyer. His charges include second-degree murder, first-degree burglary and indecent exposure.
Police said surveillance video from that early morning showed a naked man, later identified as Storer, attacking Dyer at about 1:45 a.m.
Those who knew the security officer expressed shock over the violence.
Co-worker Bell Hill said Dyer was married with children and was simply having lunch when the attack occurred.
“He was a great person. He was just in his office having a cheeseburger on his lunch break. His whole family lost him. It’s horrible,” Hill said.
Police said officers found Storer wandering in the area naked with numerous abrasions on him around 3:30 a.m. He was taken to Maui Memorial Medical Center for an evaluation.
Storer was listed as a freshman on Concordia University Irvine’s 2024-25 men’s swim and dive roster.
According to the university, he graduated from Maui Preparatory Academy in 2024, where he was a two-time Maui Interscholastic League champion.
Kahana residents said the attack has left them feeling uneasy.
Police do not know what provoked the attack and there is no information pertaining to alcohol or drug intoxication.
