Nashville Rite Aid employee accused in ‘inside job’ robbery where security guard was shot
NASHVILLE, Tenn Aug 23 2018.–A Rite Aid employee is accused of conspiring with a man who robbed and shot a security guard during a Nashville robbery last year.
According to the criminal complaint, 22-year-old Carlos Valcarcel Arocho was an employee at the West End location and was texting the gunman just prior to the ‘inside job’ robbery.
24-year-old Deonte Breedlove is accused of entering the store on October 9, 2017 and shooting the security guard in the chest at close range. He then went to the office area where he held two employees at gunpoint and ordered them to put money in a bag.
Breedlove fled the scene but both he and Arocho were arrested the next week. Both men are facing federal charges of robbery affecting commerce. Breedlove also faces a charge of using, carrying and brandishing a firearm during a crime.
If convicted, Breedlove faces life in prison and Arocho faces 20 years in prison.
