NASHVILLE SECURITY GUARD CHARGED WITH HOMICIDE
NASHVILLE, Tenn. Nov 19 2017– A security guard at a North Nashville Jazz Lounge has been facing a criminal homicide charge after police said he beat up a patron.
The incident happened on October 15, and police said the victim has been brain dead ever since.
Reports said the victim was at Jazzy’s Restaurant and Lounge on Hampton Street where Lamar Clay was working security.
Other security guards were escorting the victim out of the club when police said the guy getting kicked out punched one of the guards in the face.
They threw him to the ground, and officials said Clay jumped on top of him and punched him repeatedly in the face.
The others eventually broke it up and called police, and the victim was rushed to Skyline Medical Center where he was pronounced brain dead.
Authorities said the entire assault was caught on the club’s security cameras.
Clay has been expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
