The Metro Nashville Police are investigating after a security guard fire gunshots at a woman injuring her during an incident at a bar.
Officers responded to the LinQ parking lot just before 3 a.m. for reports of a shooting involving a security guard.
MNPD reports that a 23-year-old Mt. Juliet woman hit a security guard’s vehicle while driving in the parking lot, and when the security officer went to confront her, she tried to drive away.
The security guard said that he got his arm stuck in her driver’s side window during the interaction, and she reportedly continued to drive off and that’s when he fired at her.
The security guard fired a number of shots at the driver’s side door, striking the woman in the ankle.
Police said the woman sustained a graze wound and was taken to General Hospital for treatment.
The security guard stayed on scene and spoke with officers.
The 23-year-old woman was charged with a DUI after she was released from the hospital.
MNPD said the District Attorney’s Office will review the self-defense claim following the investigation.
