NJ police sergeant commits suicide

The city has confirmed that one of its police officers died from a self-inflicted gunshot.
Sgt. Jason Liaban was a Maywood Police Department officer who died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds on March 30, 2023.
Sgt. Liaban, was a 16-year-old veteran.
Liabon, a resident of the Packanack Lake section of Wayne, died on Thursday around 2:30 a.m.
The police department was not prepared for Jason Liaban’s sudden death.
