North Las Vegas security officer shoots-kills man at nightclub
NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. June 4 2017 A man shot by a nightclub security guard after an altercation early Saturday morning has died from his injuries, according to a North Las Vegas Police Department news release.
The shooting was reported around 3:45 a.m. on the 3300 block of East Lake Mead Boulevard, near Belmont Street. The preliminary investigation indicates the man was patronizing the establishment when he attacked and battered a security officer.
To protect himself and other patrons, the security officer shot the man at least once. He was transported to UMC Hospital in critical condition and died this afternoon.
No charges have been filed but this is an ongoing investigation.
The Clark County coroner’s office will release the name, and cause and manner of death, of the decedent after notification of next of kin.
