North Richland Hills police officer dies suddenly

A 25-year-old North Richland Hills police officer has died, the department announced Friday.
In just over two years with the department, Caleb Rainey earned a certificate of recognition, two commendations and a nomination for Rookie of the Year in 2018, the department said in a press release.
“Caleb is best described as a true public servant, always giving of himself to lift others,” the release stated. “His sense of humor brought light to our team.”
Rainey had recently been ill, the department said, but his cause of death has not yet been determined.
The department is working with Rainey’s family to make funeral arrangements.
