Off-duty Houston security officer shot to death
Houston TX Sept 27 2018 An off-duty security officer has died after being shot at an area apartment complex.
Police say that the man, who they have not identified publicly, died after being shot in his parking lot in the 2500 block of Westridge on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018.
Police were called Tuesday night to a disturbance at apartment parking lot near NRG Stadium, police said.
Houston police said that they were called to a shooting around 10:30 p.m. at the Westridge Gardens apartments, in the 2500 block of Westridge and found the man dead.
Witnesses said that two men fled in a dark-colored car, said Lt. Larry Crowson of the Houston Police Department.
It’s unclear what led to the shooting.
The victim who worked security for a company was also a security guard for the apartment building, but he wasn’t working at the time of the shooting and wasn’t in uniform, Crowson said.
