Off-duty security officer shot in Wilmington NC
WILMINGTON, NC March 7 2019 Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Wilmington late Monday night and left a man injured.
The shooting was in the 1400 block of Wooster Street and happened around 11:40 p.m.
According to the Wilmington Police Department (WPD), officers responded to the scene after receiving a Shotspotter notification involving multiple rounds fired at this location.
Sgt. J. Lachapelle with WPD told WWAY the victim was a security officer but that he was not working at the time. The victim was sitting in his vehicle when he was struck by a bullet in his arm, Lachapelle said.
The victim drove himself to New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he was treated.
