Officer Accused Of Stealing Gift Cards From Animal Control In Anne Arundel
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD Jan 5 2024- A police officer was recently accused of stealing gift cards intended for pet adopters in Anne Arundel County.
A press release identified the accused officer as Private First-Class B. Gneiting, a 3-year veteran of the Anne Arundel County Police Department. Gneiting is assigned to the Bureau of Administration.
Gneiting was charged with theft on Dec. 28, authorities said.
Police said Gneiting was suspended without pay while the investigation continues.
WMAR reported that Gneiting was temporarily assigned to the Anne Arundel County Animal Care and Control Center in Millersville in autumn 2023.
Gneiting is accused of stealing gift cards from animal adoption goodie bags and later using them, WMAR said, citing charging documents.
