Oklahoma City Hotel Security Officer Murdered

Police in Oklahoma City have reported the murder of a hotel security officer who was killed on duty, Sunday morning.
Police officials said that the security officer was escorting guests out of the Wyndham Grand Hotel near Sheridan and Broadway Avenues after a disturbance inside just before 2:45 a.m. on Sunday.
During the escort, police say someone pulled out a gun and shot the security officer without provocation.
The Oklahoma police and fire departments responded, and the security officer was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Officials also said that another hotel employee and the suspect in the shooting were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, although police did not elaborate on how either person was injured.
The suspect, who has not been identified, has been taken into police custody.
An investigation into the deadly shooting is ongoing.
This is the sixth security officer murdered during the month of January, 2026.
