On-Duty Security Guard Commits Suicide

OXNARD CA. Police are reporting that an on-duty security officer at a city building has committed suicide.
A person found the security guard unresponsive in a city public restroom in downtown Oxnard the morning of April 21 and an investigation has revealed that the man died from a self-inflicted wound, authorities said.
Officers with the Oxnard Police Department responded to the incident shortly before 9:30 a.m. and found the man in a locked restroom in the Oxnard Service Center.
The building at 214 S. C St. is part of Oxnard’s City Hall complex, between the police station and Oxnard Public Library.
Police found the unidentified 24-year-old man with one gunshot wound police said. Medical aid was provided at the scene, but the man was ultimately pronounced dead, the release says.
There is no evidence indicating any foul play, police said. A gun was recovered at the scene, authorities said.
The man was a uniformed security guard for the building contracted through a private firm.
