One person killed, security officer, 2 others shot at GA. nightclub
TROUP COUNTY, Ga. December 28 2020— An early morning shootout at a LaGrange adult entertainment club Sunday killed one person and injured four others, according to police.
LaGrange police said they were called out to the Commotions Club on New Franklin Road just after midnight, where Johnny Perkins, 54, and his brother Steven, 47, were asked to leave the building by security.
Investigators say Johnny Perkins went into the parking lot grabbed a gun and started shooting at the security officer, who shot back and hit the Perkins brothers.
While this was going on, police said Johnny Perkins’ wife Kristi came out of the club and attacked the manager Lynnette Denault.
Police said Kristi Perkins punched and bit Denault before she pulled a gun and started shooting at Childs and Denault.
Investigators also believe Johnny Perkins continued shooting, with bullets flying into the building. Police said the bullets hit the security officer Tim Childs, the club’s DJ Daniel Skipworth and a customer Charles Powell.
Childs was treated at the scene and released. Powell and Skipworth were transported via ambulance and life flight to area hospitals for treatment.
Johnny Perkins and Steven Perkins were also transported to other area hospitals to be treated for their injuries. Steven Perkins died from his injuries later Sunday morning, according to police.
Johnny Perkins is facing four counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Police say Kristi Perkins is charged with one count of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during a crime.
Additional charges felony murder have been issued for Kristi and Johnny Perkins.
