Pacifica Man, 4 Others Charged With Shoplifting $21K In Valuables
PACIFICA, CA October 20 2021— Police arrested a Pacifica man and four others in an organized retail theft from a clothing store in Corte Madera Wednesday after an alert witness called police to report the license plate of the getaway vehicle.
Tre’jor Barber of Pacifica and Tiairrah Jones of San Francisco, both 19, were arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft and conspiracy, and booked into Marin County Jail, Central Marin Police Authority said.
The juveniles, aged 17, 16 and 14, were booked into Marin County Juvenile Hall.
On Oct. 13, Central Marin police received a report of a shoplifting that just occurred at the Lululemon store in The Village at Corte Madera.
According to police, five suspects went into the store, grabbed “armfuls” of merchandise and ran out. The stolen merchandise was valued at nearly $21,000.
Police said the suspects fled in a dark blue Toyota Camry, last seen driving towards US-101. A witness saw the vehicle and reported the license plate number.
San Francisco police received a “Be on the Look Out” broadcast and within a short period of time they located the car, the five suspects, and the stolen property from Lululemon, police said.
Police said the vehicle used in the crime contained suspected stolen merchandise and was towed as evidence.
“This type of organized retail theft is occurring more frequently, both in Marin and throughout the Bay Area,” the CMPA said. “Our investigation is continuing while we determine if these suspects are associated with other similar crimes in our area. Central Marin Police takes all reports of organized retail theft crimes seriously and we fully dedicate our resources to swiftly investigating and making arrests in these incidents.”
