Pajama-pant wearing couple swears at, spits, shows gun at Lowe’s security
Cape Coral Florida February 14 2024 The Cape Coral Police Department is investigating a robbery at the Lowe’s on Pine Island Road and hopes the community can help them identify the suspects, who apparently are fans of Sesame Street’s loveable blue cookie-loving Muppet.
The man and woman wearing matching pajama pants threatened a Cape Coral Lowe’s security guard and flashed a gun as they attempted to steal items from the store about 2 p.m. Sunday, Cape Coral Police said.
They wore black T-shirts, red bottoms with a Cookie Monster pattern, and white sports slides. Police officials said the couple went through the store gathering items and attempted to leave without paying.
Cape Coral Police said they are looking for this male suspect linked to an attempted robbery Sunday afternoon, Feb. 11, 2024 at the Lowe’s on Pine Island Road. After gathering items and attempting to leave the store, they said he swore at loss prevention workers and showed a gun.
When the loss prevention team stopped them, the male swore at them and showed them a gun in his waistband, while the female spit at the staff member. They then left the store.
Police surveyed the area around the store on Pine Island Road and had assistance from a helicopter crew. Police ask if anyone knows who they are to call the station at (239) 574-3223.
The department urged the public to keep in mind that they were armed with a gun.
