Palatine bouncer arrested in assault
Palestine IL July 22 2017 A member of the security staff at Lamplighter Inn in downtown Palatine has been charged by police with aggravated battery following an incident that occurred with a group of people July 8 that involved well-known singer Haley Reinhart, who was charged with battery that night.
At approximately 2 a.m. that day, Police responded to the establishment at 60 N. Bothwell St. for the report of unwanted subjects.
Upon police arrival, a male patron of the establishment was found with significant injuries to his face and head, police said. Allegations were made that the injuries were sustained after the subject was confronted by security staff of the Lamplighter Inn bar.
Reinhart was arrested and charged with battery after she allegedly struck a Lamplighter Inn employee.
Pursuant to an investigation by Palatine police detectives, it was determined that a 32 year-old Lamplighter’s employee; Adam Sobanski was responsible for inflicting the injuries on the male patron.
Police said the investigation revealed Sobanksi placed the victim in a chokehold until the victim fell to the floor. Once on the floor, Sobanski allegedly struck the victim in the face repeatedly with a closed fist causing extensive injuries to the victim’s face and head, which required medical attention at a local hospital.
Sobanski of the 2200 block of N. Rand Rd., Palatine, was arrested by Palatine police on July 19 and charged with two counts of felony aggravated battery. His bond was set at $45,000 and is expected to appear in a Rolling Meadows courtroom at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 10.
