Patchogue-Medford High School student arrested for assaulting security officer

Police took a high school student into custody for assaulting a security officer during a confrontation at the Patchogue-Medford High School.
The student was arrested Thursday morning after he punched a security guard, police said.
According to police, the 17-year-old punched the guard in the face at 9:55 a.m.
The student, who police did not name, was arrested and charged with second degree harassment.
Police did not release any other information on the incident.
