Patient steals injects drugs and assaults security
PORT ANGELES WA December 9 2019 – A former body builder from Seattle was arrested Wednesday night at Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles after stealing drugs and then injecting himself.
39-year-old Justin Randal described by police as a transient from the Seattle area started yesterday at a drug treatment facility in Port Angeles but was transported to the hospital for reasons that have not been divulged by authorities.
Randal was caught by hospital staff stealing drugs from a hospital drug cart. Randal had injected himself with some of the drugs and tried to flee the hospital with more. After being cornered by staff, Randall attacked a security guard, scratching her throat, but was ultimately tackled and restrained.
Randal told police he began using drugs as a body builder.
Police are recommending charges of first-degree robbery because Randall injured someone during the theft. The case is under review by the county prosecutor.
