Phoenix Strip Club Bouncer Pleads Guilty in Fatal 2017 Fight
PHOENIX AZ March 1 2018 One of two Phoenix strip club employees accused in the death of an off-duty Daisy Mountain firefighter last year has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
Maricopa County Superior Court officials say Brandon Douglas Draper had a change of plea hearing Monday.
He’s scheduled to be sentenced on May 4.
The 27-year-old Draper was a bouncer at the Centerfolds Cabaret at the time of the January 2017 incident.
Phoenix police say surveillance video of the altercation outside the strip club showed Draper pushing 37-year-old Luke Jones to the ground and striking him numerous times on the head and the club’s manager disconnecting the video.
Draper had pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder.
Daisy Mountain Fire Department officials say Jones was a 12-year veteran and left behind a wife and daughter.
