Police called to escort 50 rowdy juveniles from Mall of America
Bloomington MN December 29 2019 Bloomington police say about 50 juveniles were escorted off Mall of America property Friday night after a large brawl.
It started at about 7 p.m., and eventually broke into a couple of separate fights within the group of juveniles.
MOA security officers responded and tried to contain the fights and called in local police for assistance.
It is not clear what part of the mall the melee occurred.
Police say mall security used chemical spray to help stop the fights.
The Bloomington Police Department, which has officers assigned to the mall, said mall security had asked the group to leave. The group refused, so the police were called in to assist.
The incident happened around 7 p.m.
There was no property damage but two arrests were made by criminal citations for disorderly conduct.
Once the officers intervened, the group left the property and did not return.
Under Mall of America policy, on Friday and Saturday evenings, youth under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult 21 years or older from 4 p.m. until close.
